WHAT IS THE FIFTH RING?
Our name, Fifth Ring, comes from The Book of Five Rings written by Miyamoto Musashi, a 16-17th century martial artist and philosopher. Musashi emphasizes the importance of persistent training not only in your art but also in the arts and disciplines of others. In the first four rings you develop your attitude, focus, strength, emotion and self-awareness. After mastering the first four rings, you enter the fifth ring in which you begin to understand that there is a never ending universe of new things to learn.
The fifth ring is one of lifelong learning, intuition, humility and natural rhythm.
